Fitchburg Gateway Park--Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Jacob Jeffreys, 12, of Pepperell, who is studying conservation in his home school, walks along the North Nashua River in the new Gateway Park in Fitchburg during the park's ribbon-cutting ceremony. The park was funded through a new state-park program called the Gateway City Parks program and was made possible by the collaborative effort and support by various public and private groups including the Trustees of Reservations, the city of Fitchburg, the Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs, the North County Land Trust, Inc., and the Nashua River Watershed Association.
